Our preschool

Rated as an 'outstanding provider' by Ofsted, Fairways Preschool Playgroup has been caring for children since 1978. Located in the grounds of Fairways Primary School we strive to create a warm and stimulating environment.

Play is central to a child's development and learning journey and is at the heart of what we do. We provide children with a range of activities that help them progress in each area of learning and development.

We believe every child is unique and has the right to be treated fairly and equally and free from discrimination. We explore different cultures and festivals and embrace those that reflect the families in our setting, inviting families to join and share this with us.

Children are encouraged to have a voice and to influence their own learning through their interests. We take account of any special needs a child may have and work with outside agencies to meet specific needs.

Where the fun begins

We organise our sessions so that children can choose from a range of age-appropriate activities and are encouraged to take part in adult-led activities.

The routines and activities that make up each session are designed to help each child feel that they are a valued member of the setting as well as gain from the social experience of being part of a group.

Exploring our surroundings

We have a spacious and fully resourced outside area for children to safely explore. This is used as an extension of our classrooms.

Whether it is cooking up a pie in the mud kitchen, searching for bugs and minibeasts or swinging beneath the canopy of the oak trees, there is something for every child to enjoy in our open space.
